What does this material present?
The new building material has been developed to help architects, contractors, and project developers achieve circular economy and sustainability goals. It characteristics is the same with standard plasterboard, but is made using 100% recycled gypsum, which typically consists of 97% post-consumer waste and 3% pre-consumer waste. Its paper facings also consist of 96% recycled fibre. The new material offers a practical solution for reducing construction waste and supporting projects designed and built according to circular economy principles.
How will new plasterboard influence the building industry in the future?
This production method will help significantly reduce industrial emissions. Also it decrease the final cost of the product. This, in turn, will reduce construction costs and make the process more affordable.
One of the production managers of the new plasterboard said: “We are already striving to integrate recycled materials across all our plants. Our plasterboard manufacturing process includes a market-leading percentage of recycled gypsum. Gypsum is fully recyclable and can be processed indefinitely without losing its quality.”
Fencyx, as one of the leading plasterboard supplier for builders’ merchants, supports that initiative. We are sure that starting to use recyclable materials will make it more affordable and increase building activity.
