The government is changing the training program for construction workers

The UK Ministry of Education has published a new statement regarding the training of construction workers in the country. It states that a new list of “specialized technical colleges” has been defined, which are expected to prepare up to 40,000 students by 2029. What is the current situation with construction workers’ preparation?

As is known, the construction industry is currently experiencing a crisis related to a shortage of workers. The lack is especially severe when it comes to qualified personnel, who are not easy to train or replace. Therefore, the government has begun taking steps to address this problem. In particular, the number of publicly funded training places has been increased, and graduates have been provided with employment opportunities. However, this proved insufficient, so the government decided to take additional measures.

How will the situation develop in the future?

Shortly, a significant increase in the number of personnel in the construction industry is expected. This will have a positive impact on its development. In particular, Tim Balcon, Chief Executive of the Construction Industry Training Board, said: “It’s wonderful to see the progress being made towards establishing these Technical Excellence Colleges for Construction. They represent a transformative opportunity for people to complete local vocational training, helping to drive regional growth and nurture the next generation of skilled construction workers in local communities.”

Fencyx, as one of the leaders in the UK building industry, is happy that the UK Government is taking additional actions to prepare new workers. It helps to solve many problems in the industry and improve its growth.
