Roofers may become qualified workers
The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), in collaboration with the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC), has introduced the Certified Membership Program (CMP) in the roofing sector. This is an opportunity for experienced roofing professionals to obtain certified status and become MCIOB. However, what are the reasons for this decision, and how will it influence the construction situation in the future?
The main source: Roofers can become chartered builders
The reason for that situation?
The upskilling course was created to meet the growing demand for skilled roofers and to improve the quality of their work. In addition, the course opens new opportunities for workers in this field, including the ability to increase their earnings.
The Roofing CMP program is designed for candidates with at least five years of experience in roofing, who manage people, processes, or projects, and who have £1,395 available. It is part of the expanding range of CIOB industry membership programs.
The Roofing CMP course combines CIOB’s experience in professional education with NFRC’s understanding of the roofing sector to align the course with the needs of roofing specialists.
How may a qualification for roofers influence the UK building industry?
The CMP program for roofing will have several positive effects on the UK construction sector. First of all, roofers will become more qualified specialists, which will increase the quality of their work. Secondly, more people will be able to enter this field, helping to fill the shortage of professionals in this area.
CIOB Academy director Adrian Montague said: “The Roofing CMP reflects CIOB’s mission to support all areas of the built environment in achieving excellence and professionalism. Through this initiative, experienced roofing specialists can now gain chartered recognition for the vital role they play in delivering quality and safety across the sector.”
NFRC chief executive James Talman added: “This collaboration with CIOB gives our members a unique opportunity to gain chartered status through a program designed specifically for their expertise. It’s a significant step forward in recognizing roofing as a professional discipline in its own right.”
Fencyx, as one of the leaders in the UK building industry, positively reacts to this course. Thanks to this program, more qualified roofers will appear in the construction industry, contributing to the overall development of the sector.
